Swipe Film Scholarship Opportunity

Award winning film production, sales and distribution company Swipe Films, known for Grand Theft Parsons starring Johnny Knoxville and Christina Applegate, is offering undergraduate and post graduate students the first Swipe Films Script Writing Scholarship.

The scholarship is open to all UK- and Irish-based undergraduate and postgraduate students to submit an original film screenplay for consideration.

Francesca Harris, Head of Acquisitions, at Swipe Films says, “We want to unearth the talent of tomorrow. This scholarship will hopefully encourage all budding writers to put pen to paper over the summer, and give Hollywood a run for its money.”

First prize is £1,000 and a development meeting in London with the Swipe Films executive team. The winner will also have the possibility of their script being produced and onto the screen.

Scripts need to be

• Between 80 - 120 pages in length.
• Fiction or Fact, Horror or Comedy, Thriller or Romantic
• All genres and ideas (original to the author) will be accepted.
• Submitted in either Word or PDF format.
• Laid out in standard script format.
• Submitted by 31st August 2006

The winning script will be optioned by Swipe Films, for a period of 12 months, the consideration being the first prize sum.
