Gervais and Jensen Gain Extra Gongs

 

Ashley JensenRick GervaisExtras, the follow-up to worldwide hit The Office, triumphed at the Rose d'Or festival in Switzerland, scooping Best Sitcom and the Best Actress accolade for Ashley Jensen.

 

The judges also awarded Ricky Gervais the Honorary Rose d'Or in recognition of his "exceptional services to the entertainment industry". The awards will sit happily alongside Gervais' clutch of Baftas and the Golden Globe he received in 2004 for portraying The Office boss-from-hell David Brent.

Other success stories at the ceremony included Noel Edmonds' Deal Or No Deal, which won Best Game Show and Best Game Show Format, while Stephen Fry was named Best Game Show Host for QI.

Best Reality Show went to The Apprentice, and Best Variety Programme was Channel 4's The Friday Night Project.

Best Soap was won by German show Verliebt. Best Soap Actor was Jack Wagner of US soap The Bold And The Beautiful.
