M&ID application deadline extended till 7th June.

Optimising the visibility and exploitation of films across platforms and markets

Media Mundus support for m&id participants from outside the European Union is likely to be confirmed in the next few days. In order to ensure that as many non EU applicants as possible benefit from Media Mundus support, the deadline for applications for M&ID is extended until Friday, June 7th.

The Media Business School’s acclaimed Marketing and Distribution course is now oriented to the global, digital-driven market. The new m&id is led by Peter Buckingham, former Head of Distribution at UK Film Council and BFI, and an expert in connecting films to audiences.

Twenty-five selected film executives with experience in production, marketing, distribution, acquisitions, sales or exhibition will bring their feature films, before their commercial release, to the residential training period taking place in Ronda (Spain) from 8th to 14th July. Online consultation for up to 6 months will follow this residential training.

Through a series of seminars and meetings with the m&id experts, all key players in the entertainment industry from both the independent and the studio sectors, participants will gain detailed insight into the processes involved in preparing the distribution of feature films. They will get advice on how to apply it to the marketing and distribution strategy for their project: a strategy that clearly identifies the project’s audience and markets, embraces and optimises the opportunities that digital media brings across the value chain, and offers an attractive investment opportunity. This week will also help participants expand their international professional network.

m&id is delivered by the Media Business School with the support of the MEDIA programme of the European Union, the Spanish Ministry of Culture, Northern Ireland Screen, and Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund, which is funded directly by industry through the Skills Investment Fund (SIF), as well as by the National Lottery via the BFI.
