intro
Paramount will cut a number of scenes from the British version of Lara Croft: Tomb Raider in an attempt to gain an ideal 12 rating.

The BBFC insisted that some scenes, involving knives, head butts and blows to the throat would only be allowed with a 15 rating. Robin Duval, the film board's director noted, "The natural audience for Lara Croft is the 12 to 15 age group," before revealing the studio Paramount "has responded positively to the BBFC's concerns with cuts to those elements and to other violent content at several points in the film."

This after The Independent reported on Monday that Scottish private school Gordonstoun would receive more than $1.7 million in free in-theatre advertising as part of a legal settlement with game maker Eidos,.

Apparently Eidos had neglected to ask the noted school's permission to use its name and agreed to produce a three-minute ad for Gordonstoun that will precede screenings of the film.
