Ann Tobin, Development Executive. ann.ympa@workstation.org.uk Eligible Funding Region - Yorkshire Overview The Yorkshire Media Production Agency supports media production in the Yorkshire area through the provision of loan funding to feature films, short films, cultural productions, television and satellite productions and projects utilising new media technologies. Supported projects must demonstrate commercial potential, artistic merit and economic value to the region's development. In addition to companies and individuals based in the region applications can be made by companies or individuals based outside the region agreeing to spend at least twice the level of funding in the area. Loan contributions will be between £1,000 and the smaller of £200,000 or 25% of the total production budget. Recent credits include features This Filthy Earth and Large, co-financed with the Film Consortium and FilmFour Lab. Funding and Support Project Development Support & Funding Loan funding repayable on a project entering into production is available to assist all development activities prior to the production stage, including script development, budgeting and financing. The scheme can also support a slate of projects being developed. Feature Film Production Applications should demonstrate the financial viability of a project through a schedule of co-financing partners such as theatrical and television pre-sales. Letters of intent from the Agency can be provided without full financing being confirmed, but the Agency must be satisfied of potential sales with a market analysis by a recognised sales agent. Broadcast Television Production Television production in the region is encouraged by offering the loan funds as a means of levering co-financing with broadcast partners. Applicants must demonstrate than the loan will improve their negotiating rights with the broadcaster. Cable & Satellite Production Similar in structure to Broadcast Television, the Agency recognises through Cable & Satellite Production that this developing sector requires a fast turn around of decisions and projects are produced on lower budgets, often with new producers attached. New Media/ Digital Technology Production The range of audio-visual support has been widened with the provision of loans to companies developing content for CD Roms, DVD Roms and the Internet.
