Nessie Film Doubts Surface

The recent rediscovery of the film that started the Loch Ness monster myth has caused the doubters to rise to the surface. This one in Scotland On Sunday…..

It is interesting that Malcolm Irvine’s 1936 film alleged to show the Loch Ness monster has been found. However, no one should conclude that it is genuine. When it was shown to the Linnaen Society in that year, specialist Eric Foxon could not identify the object. Constance Whyte, who later showed stills in her book, suspected a fraud on hearing that "a mechanical device" had been employed. The film does appear to show some object being dragged through the water.
