GMAC Building Up For New Media

Glasgow Media Access Centre will host a series of interactive talks and presentations on New Media issues throughout November and December. They also plan a six-month residency for a New Media artist or practitioner from January who will help to establish GMAC as a hotbed of New Media work and discourse.

The first of these talks, The Biz, with 55 Degrees and Pictures On The Wall took place on Thursday last when entrepreneurs and animators were given insight into how to succeed in the industry.

The talks are free to GMAC members otherwise they are £2.00 each or £10.00 for all six. GMAC is also running a series of technical courses in Flash, Dreamweaver and Director software at greatly reduced prices.

The initiative is being supported by Scottish Screen, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and Glasgow City Council, PACT Scotland, New Media Scotland, Four Minute Wonders, Oak's Bark, Pictures on the Wall and 55 Degrees.

Venue: Glasgow Media Access Centre, 3rd floor, 34 Albion St, Glasgow, G1 1LH 0141 553 2620 admin@g-mac.co.uk
