Edinburgh Film Festival To Be 'Shorter but Sweeter'

Next year's Edinburgh International Film Festival will be shorter than usual.

The organisers have decided the 2002 festival will last 12 days instead of 15.

It will take place between August 4 and 15.

The reduction in days brings Edinburgh in line with the likes of London and Cannes.

Shane Danielsen, who has taken over as the artistic director of the festival, said: "A shorter festival can and will be a sweeter festival."
