The Adders 2008 - The All Youth Academy Awards, call for entries

Alex Campbell writes in about a promising new film festival and awards run by, and for, young people (which means people under 19, apparently):

"The Adders 2008 is the future for British film-making. It allows young film-makers work to be showcased to a wider audience and for industry professionals to get a taste of where the future of film-making will come from. Including live music performances and the presentation of the brand new Youth Academy Awards this will be a night like no other."

CALLING ALL YOUTH FILM MAKERS  

Adder Films a youth film making organization in association with Hertfordshire County Council (UK) are hosting The Adders 2008, an all youth film festival open to anyone aged 19 and under. We are looking for the next generation of "Steven Spielbergs" to submit their films, trailers, music videos or screenplays to be considered for an Adder's Youth Academy Award.

We will be holding an "Oscars" style awards evening at the Alban Arena (St Albans) on Monday 27^th October 2008. The evening, set during the October half-term will consist of previewing the entered films, trailers and music videos, enjoying an all inclusive meal while being entertained by Hertfordshire's best youth music acts, before the Adder's Youth Academy Awards are judged and announced by leading film industry professionals.

However to make this event an outstanding success we need your entries. There are numerous categories of awards to be won including Best Film, Best Director, Best Trailer etc. so don't be afraid to get your name out there, but hurry because we need all entries to be submitted by Saturday 27^thSeptember 2008 to allow our judges adequate time to review them all.

Adder Films was started by a small group of like minded GCSE students, who are passionate about film making and the future that it can offer, and it is their drive and determination to produce & showcase what young people can achieve. This is the motivation behind the Adders 2008.
