Contact - Peter Carlton, EMMI Fund Consultant

Eligible Funding Region - Production companies and creative talent based in the East Midlands or intending to produce all or part of a project in the region.

Overview

The East Midlands Media Initiative (EMMI), a European Regional Development backed fund administered by the Intermedia Film & Video media agency, is able to co-finance audio-visual media productions up to 25% of the total budget with a ceiling of £200,000. The scope of the chosen media is wide, covering short films, animation, television, low budget features and new media such as interactive TV and computer games. Encouragement is given to projects displaying creative or technological innovation and importance is placed on the ability of a project to attract other production spend into the East Midlands.

EMMI actively builds partnerships to assist funding, and has worked with Channel 4 Television, Carlton Television, FilmFour Lab and Pathe Pictures among others. The fund has backed a large number of projects since 1996 most notably The Deal, an anthology of six short stories in 1999, and Small Time, the debut feature of Shane Meadows.
