Each RAB is allocated a certain amount of central government money by the Arts Council, Crafts Council and British Film Institute with additional money coming from local authorities. The money is used to fund arts organisations and individual artists working in a wide variety of art forms including the visual arts, broadcasting, film and photography. Funding and Support Regional Arts Lottery Programme The Regional Arts Boards organise the Regional Arts Lottery Programme, which aims to support high-quality arts projects by making grants available under the following headings: - Access to the arts
- Education through the arts
- Production and distribution of the arts
- Investment in artists
- Development of arts organisations
The principles of excellence, diversity and equal opportunities back the programme up, and each Regional Arts Board has its own priorities based on the specific needs of the arts in their region. The priorities of each Regional Arts Board can be downloaded from www.arts.org.uk. |
