The seven-part series will be aired on Sky One this autumn when Ruth, nicknamed The Badger, will be on hand to give applicants some straight-talking advice.

Filmed in venues across the UK, the candidates will be asked to put their inventions or idea to the test in front of a judging panel and audience. The candidate with the most votes - as decided by the audience - will book themselves a place in the final.

Badger, a 27-year-old from Wolverhampton, was beaten to the top job of becoming Sir Alan Sugar's aide in BBC2 programme The Apprentice by Michelle Dewberry. But Sir Alan Sugar may be regretting his choice. Dewberry recently revealed she was pregnant by fellow contestant Syed Ahmed.

Sir Alan is said to be furious at the news and Dewberry is reportedly on gardening leave. Ahmed is also making a return to TV as one of 80 celebrities hoping to win a place in a celebrity football squad for The Match, which is returning to Sky One this autumn for a third series.
