A British Bollywood Fan Plans to Produce and Star In His Own Film
Mansoor Quazi, a 27 year old from Birmingham, has plans to become the next Shah Rukh Khan. The ambitious fan intends to turn fantasy into reality by producing and starring in his own Bollywood film - and has started by raising seed finance on Ebay.
Central to the venture's success will be attracting enough investment for the project. Investors will become part of the world's largest movie industry and are offered equity and other incentives in return for their investment. These incentives include invitations to the movie premier, the chance to meet film stars and crew, and being named in the credits - amongst other things.
At a recent trial on the auction site eBay, Mansoor managed to raise GBP £4,000 in just three days.
"This is not just about producing a Bollywood movie: it's about my journey as a simple nobody, venturing out to fulfil a dream - to become a Bollywood actor," says Mansoor, who was born in Hyderabad, India.
Mansoor has enrolled at an acting school in India to hone his acting skills and is looking to release the film in late 2007. A music album will be released later on this year, accompanied by a set of music videos staring the actor.
"I feel that the music videos will provide a valuable experience and secure recognition prior to starring in the movie. No one has really made an impact in Bollywood who lives outside India, despite its ever growing popularity around the globe. This is what I hope to achieve," he says.
Anyone interested in investing in this exciting venture should contact Mansoor or his company Bollywood Productions Ltd was formed by Mansoor Quazi in May 2006 to attract investors to produce a Bollywood movie. Investors will own shares in the company as well as other benefits in return for their investment.
