Martin Kemp stars in the House on Strawhill A remake of the controversial British horror classic The House On Straw Hill (1975) will start shooting this summer, starring Martin Kemp (The Krays), Jane March (Color of Night), Gillian MacGregor (The Sickhouse) and Patrick Bergin (Sleeping With The Enemy), with horror film legend Bob Keen (Hellraiser, Dog Soldiers) directing.

The original film’s star Linda Hayden will have a key supporting role. In the tradition of Saw and Misery, The House On Straw Hill tells the story of film director Paul Martin (Kemp) who has a nervous breakdown after seeing his best friend and producer being tortured and murdered by a crazed writer whose work they rejected.

Linda Hayden, who starred in the original film will return in a key supporting roleWhen his agent finds a country retreat for him, he begins to recover and with the help of his new secretary (MacGregor) even begins working again. But Paul Martin’s past is about to catch up with him: he’s in trouble with the mob and his old backer Jack (Bergin) means to collect what’s rightfully his by any means necessary... and if that wasn’t enough, The House On Straw Hill holds dark secrets – the owner has disappeared mysteriously and the austere family retainers are secretive and menacing… someone prowls the rambling mansion at night, stalking Paul.

It seems his psychotic nemesis is on the loose and time is running out for Paul as he enters into a deadly game of cat and mouse…

The House On Straw Hill is a De Naray Sothcott Entertainment production. The Producers are Constantine de Naray and Jonathan Sothcott and the original film’s director, James Kenelm Clarke is Executive Producer. The screenplay is by Beth White.

The film will be shot entirely on location in England in the Summer of 2006.  Further details will be announced soon.
