Cate Blanchett revisiting her role as Queen Elizabeth, poised at the moment Sir Walter Raleigh doffs his cloak in the puddle.Movie star Cate Blanchett looks simply stunning as Queen Elizabeth, as she re-enacted the famous scene from history when Sir Walter Raleigh - played by Clive Owen - lays down his cloak over a puddle.

St John's College, Cambridge, doubling for buildings in Elizabeth's reignThe scene was being shot this week at St John's College, one of Cambridge University's most beautiful colleges, which is providing the stunning backdrop for the new all-star film about the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, a sequel to the 1998 production Elizabeth.

It is being made by London-based Working Title Films, responsible for a string of British film successes, such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, and last year's Pride and Prejudice.

St John's College is doubling as buildings from Elizabeth's reign, from 1558-1603. Filming will then move to Ely Cathedral for more location shots. Studio-based filming will be at Shepperton.

Next port of call - ElyThe new film picks up from Elizabeth15 years on, examining the Virgin Queen's relationships with Sir Walter Raleigh and Mary Queen of Scots - played by Minority Report's Samantha Morton. It ends on the eve of the Spanish Armada.

Geoffrey Rush once again plays spymaster Sir Walter Walsingham, while Rhys Ifans plays a priest. The 1998 film also starred Cate as Queen Elizabeth and Geoffrey Rush as Walsingham.
