The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill If Grizzly Man was too scary, but you still haven't had your Dr.Doolittle fix, this documentary might be the one for you.

Director: JUDY IRVING

Starring: MARK BITTNER, JUDY IRVING, LOADS OF PARROTS

Unemployed 'dharma bum', Mark Bittner, has become the modern-day 'St Francis of San Francisco', by tending to the squawking parrot population. The director, Irving, diagnoses Bittner's attachment to the feathered ones as a need for human companionship. However, his neighbours see him as a squatter, and want him and his avian friends out.

Irving's frequent appearances in the film don't really compensate for the lack of director's commentary, or any other extras, on the region 2 disc. Region 1 is definitely the way to go, bursting with treats, such as the trailer, deleted scenes, and Bittner's home movies.

Released: 26 June
