UK Moviegoers Stay Warm On Ice Age 2 Print E-mail

The UK Box Office this weekIce Age 2: The Meltdown continued to stay warm with moviegoers and stayed top of the box office charts for the third week running. The comic tale of Manny the mammoth and Sid the sloth held off the horror film Silent Hill to stay at the number one spot. It has taken £24.6 million pounds since its release, according to Screen International.

 Silent Hill, which stars actor Sean Bean and is based on a video game, follows a woman as she tried to find her child in an alternate dimension, home to strange beings.

Horror movie spoof Scary Movie 4, which sends up films like The Grudge and War of the Worlds, dropped to third place. Comedy American Dreamz, starring Hugh Grant as the host of a TV talent show, is a new entry, coming in at fourth.

She's The Man, a modern-day take the Shakespeare romantic comedy Twelfth Night, dropped to fifth with Antonio Banderas' dance drama Take The Lead in sixth.

Inside Man, the heist thriller, fell to seventh, whilst Antarctic action drama Eight Below new in comes at eighth.

Horror film An American Haunting, starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek was in ninth, with mediaeval tale Tristan and Isolde debuting in 10th.
