London-based freelancers new to the business can now get their hands on a Skillset Audio Visual Industries Induction course and it will cost them absolutely nothing. The Video College is offering freelancers the chance to go on a free City and Guilds course that has the potential to help them to find work.

The course will cover...

• Employment and professional development in the Audio Visual industries (financial responsibilities of the employee, invoicing, tax forms, national insurance contributions, income tax, bookkeeping and more).
• Working practices in the Audio Visual industries
• Current and emerging technologies in the Audio Visual industries
• Essential health and safety information

     ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible you have to be a freelance worker or an employee of an SME (a small or medium sized enterprise) in the audio visual industries having worked for more than one day but less than one year. You must also be living and working in London.

     DATES

The next Video College course starts 4 May 2006 with further intakes later in the year. It takes twelve days to complete and students attend for two days per week over a six-week period.
