LUFF logoBritish film export event, the London UK Film Focus is looking for feature films to screen in its Breakthrough strand, supported by UK Trade & Investment.

Short Order - did well at LUFF 2005

Breakthrough aims to expose new talent to sales agents and international distributors, with a dedicated screen hosting four screenings per day over three days. Films must be British, not seen in any festival or market prior to 2006, and be of theatrical length and quality.

Several titles that screened in the strand last year were subsequently selected for international festivals, including Short Order which was shown at the Dinard British Film Festival.

“Breakthrough offers producers a real chance to raise their game and be seen by major industry players, potentially attracting sales agents and international interest,” says Helena Mackenzie, head of International at Film London.

John Franck of UK Trade & Investment said: “UK Trade & Investment is delighted to support LUFF 2006. The UK's film making talent is highly regarded around the world and the UK film industry has made a positive contribution to the UK balance of payments every year since 1995. We recognise the importance of supporting up and coming film makers in the competitive international market place. To this end LUFF allows new UK film makers an important opportunity to showcase their work."

This year’s London UK Film Focus will take place in London from Monday 26 - Thursday 29 June 2006 at Cineworld, Docklands. The three-day event provides a platform to celebrate and promote British films to the international market. 150 international buyers from all world territories will be invited to see around 40 titles.

The deadline for submissions is May 10, 2006. Viewing copies should be on DVD. Selected titles will need to be supplied on 35mm or digi-beta formats, subject to technical facilities. The selector’s decision is final. Film London will endeavour to return entries, providing contact details are clearly marked.

Viewing copies should be sent to:
