NO SMOKING ON SET in Scotland from26th MarchScotland's smoking ban comes into force from 6.00am Sunday 26th March and it applies in all workplaces, including performing venues and indoor sets and potentially outdoor sets too, if partially covered.

Design for a smoking shelter to comply with new Scots lawThe new law doesn't  ban the epiction of smoking, but smoking of any substutute material, like herbal alternatives, is also banned.
This may prove problematic where smoking is artistically or creatively critical to the story.

There is an actual reference to film and television in the act as a designated space where the ban applies:

(7) Premises used as a broadcasting studio or film studio or for the recording of a performance with a view to its use in a programme service or in a film intended for public exhibition.
