The new set for the film world's greatest drama - the Academy Awards, has been unveiled in Hollywood. It was created by Roy Christopher who has designed for the show since 1979.

 Pictured is Christopher with his design for the 2004 Oscar ceremony. His 2006 design is much miore glamourous and can be seen below, unveiled for the first time........

"I'm almost synonymous in the design world of Hollywood as the guy who does the Academy Awards," he says proudly.

He grew up as a farm boy in Fresno, a small town in the middle of California - a long way from Hollywood, but loved the glamour of the Oscars.

"I'd watch the Academy Awards and it was such a magical event, I really wanted to be part of that world like everyone does."

This year is Christopher's 17th as Academy Awards production designer. Over the years he has won six Emmy awards for his work on Oscars sets.
