Chancellor Brown Visits Yashraj Bollywood Studio Print E-mail

Yashraj studios in MumbaiGordon Brown has been welcomed in Mumbai, India, at one of Bollywood's film studios. At Yashraj Films, Britain's prime minister in waiting was warmly welcomed by Yash Chopra and his wife. Amitabh Bachchan, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar also welcomed the Chancellor.

The visitor toured the studio's state-of-the-art facilities, including a recording studio and in the preview theatre watched the blockbuster song "Kajira Re." Yash Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan spent time in discussion with the British Chancellor, including the shooting of Indian films in the UK.

 

 

A parting gift to the minister from Yash Chopra included DVDs of some of the biggest Yashraj films including ‘Veer-Zaara', ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', ‘Fanaa', ‘Dhoom', ‘Bunty aur Babli', ‘Salaam Namaste.'
