tribeca network , the new york-based,
interactive, web community/marketplace for arts, ideas and opportunities
(http://tribeca.net), announced the launch of it’s latest global platform for
contemporary filmmakers, the tribeca network short films festival (tribecashorts.com)

with eight categories to enter, thousands of dollars in prize money,
and the opportunity to have their films
shown worldwide on the tribeca network, the festival should draw the
attention of filmmakers, critics, distributors and an audience beyond the
localized boundaries of most existing film festivals.

accepted and shown on a first-come basis, filmmakers have until april 20
2007 to submit extant films, finish current projects, or even complete new
work. the sooner the work is submitted/entered/accepted/uploaded.
however, the sooner artists and audiences can vote their choices; so
the earlier works are submitted, the larger a voting public they may
attract. having watched festival entries on tribecashorts.com, viewers
can then vote their choice immediately, thumbs up/thumbs down,
automatically relocating each work into a final winning order.

applicants first set up their show page at tribeca.net art channel, so that
actionvoters may consider not only their submitted film and description, but
their other works too, as well as a variety of media/art, the artist’s
statement, blog and discussion forum. only one entry per artist per
category may be submitted; categories include: comedy, , animation,
art, documentary, drama, extreme, music.

“people like tribeca network because they can champion creativity here, as
well delight in the amazingly diverse and delightful works freely
available,” said tribeca’s publisher, chuck harris, “artists not only
have the opportunity to showcase their work worldwide now, they can also
consider it alongside their contemporaries’ work and thoughts, in a global
context--the collaborative possibilities are pretty amazing.”

to enter the tribeca network short films festival, go to http://tribecashorts.com and
follow the prompts to fame and fortune.

Post edited by: docmartin, at: 2006/12/05 18:18
