My professional career has ranged from designing operatic costumes in Italy, improvising and devising theatrical shows and cabaret on the London fringe, to presenting the award winning pre school children’s television series ‘Storytime’ for the BBC. I'm also an experienced voice over artiste, having fronted many successful ad campaigns.
I was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for co-writing the West End musical ‘Up on the Roof.’
As well as being a (mildly) successful black actress on the stage and TV I am also a freelance scriptwriter on the cbeebies ‘Storymakers’ and writer/presenter on the BBC’s new playschool ‘Tikabilla’ and the award winning ‘Storytime.’ My short film ‘Whatever’s Going on at Number 19?’ won a place on the sadly defunct Jerwood/National Film Council’s First Film development scheme. Then I successfully completed a T.A.P.S. script-editing course in 2004. I'm an M.A. screenwriting graduate from the wonderful Phil Parkers course at the LCC (formerly the LCP.) where I am now a guest lecturer.
My current freelance jobs include acting, Script Development Executive for Marchmont Films, Skillset Careers advisor.
I'm available for acting work, script editing/doctoring/writing and development work.
