Netribution is pleased to be supporting a new project being run by the Scottish Documentary Institute looking at emerging funding and distribution models in the documentary space over three promising new feature films. A key part of this is recruiting what Jon Reiss calls a PMD - a producer of Marketing, Distribution and Exhibition - who not only co-ordinates online marketing, but can handle crowd-funding and DIY distribution. The job description is below... Full Time – 17 months, £24,000-£26,000 pa This is a unique opportunity for someone to be at forefront of new models of documentary film investment and audience engagement. A successful PMD can make the difference between a film you never heard of and a glowing success which pays back its investors and sets the filmmakers up to make more. You will test and develop tools and strategies to be used at any stage of production and distribution and run crowdfunding campaigns. You will work across a number of feature documentaries at different stages. Your task will include definition of an authentic voice for SDI’s online communications and to aggregate audiences across projects. You should be a digital native, a natural communicator and motivator, and able to manage multiple priorities. | |

With more sites popping up for raising documentary finance, such as Reel Changes and Reelisor, (not to mention IndieGoGo, IndieShares, Kinooga and the UK's IndieMaverick and MovieMogulFund), a free workshop on making trailers for fundraising from the Scottish Documentary Institute looks just the ticket (thanks Sonja):
